Workshop recap
First Workshop Recap - June 2026
Our first AI literacy workshop brought the AI Awareness SG team together with elderly participants in a community setting. The session focused on practical online safety: how to slow down, check sources, and recognise when digital content may be AI-generated or misleading.
What We Covered
We introduced examples of AI-generated images, discussed how misinformation can spread through screenshots and forwarded messages, and practised checking whether a claim needs more verification before it is shared.
What Participants Practised
Participants looked at sample questions and visual examples, then discussed what warning signs they noticed. The elderly participants were supportive, engaged, and willing to try the activities even when the examples were unfamiliar. Their questions helped us make the workshop clearer and more practical.
Feedback and Next Steps
The workshop showed that AI literacy works best when it is simple, visual, and connected to everyday online situations. Next, we will improve the examples, collect confirmed feedback data, and continue building resources that students, families, and community groups can use.
